Book Review| A Summer At Sea | Katie Fforde

'A Summer at Sea' is the first book i have read by Katie Fforde and i wasn't disappointed!  If you have read my book reviews before you will know that 'Chick Lit' is my favourite genre to read!

'She has a career as a midwife that she loves . She enjoys living on her own as a single woman. But she’s also feels it’s time for a change and a spot of some sea air.

So when her best friend Rebecca asks whether she’d like to spend the summer cooking on a ‘puffer’ boat just off the Scottish coast, she jumps at the chance.

But she barely has time to get to grips with the galley before she finds herself with a lot on her plate.

Rebecca is heavily pregnant and is thrilled to have her friend on board doing most of the work. Then there’s Emily’s competitive and jealous kitchen assistant who thinks she should be head-cook, not Emily.

And there’s Alasdair, the handsome local doctor who Emily is desperately trying not to notice.

Because if she falls in love with him, as he appears to be falling for her, will she ever want her old life back again?'

Kate Fforde has quite a few books out which i will get round to purchasing as i really enjoyed this book! I particularly liked the characters Emily and Alasdair i really got a feel of both of their characters.

The book would be a great holiday read as it's easy to follow, all the characters are likable and it's an uplifting read! I would highly recommend this book. I have also purchased a few other books by Katie Fforde since reading this one!

You can order here.

Review| LA Girl Pro Foundation

This foundation has been all over YouTube especially on American beauty channels as you can't get this in the UK, i ordered mine from Beauty Joint.
We all know how popular the LA Girl Pro Concealer is and i love that so was excited to try a foundation by the brand. The foundation is an illuminating foundation.
The consistency is quite thick, thicker than i thought it would be for an illuminating foundation. It is high coverage but not too heavy on the skin.

The foundation lasted around 6 hours on my skin before i needed to powder which is pretty good going for an illuminating foundation. I liked the packaging it i think it makes it look more expensive than it is! At £6.29 it is well worth the money.

I have the shade 'Fair' which is the lightest but they do have a white which you can mix in, as this is quite dark for a fair shade but they do have a great darker shade range.

I would highly recommend this foundation as i think it would be great for dry skin but if you have oily skin but you just might need to powder a little more often!
Available here.

|Make Up Geek Eyeshadow Collection

Make Up Geek eye shadows are some of my favourites, i don't have a big collection but i wanted to share these shades as i use them all the time. I know Make Up Geek are raved about everywhere but these shadows are probably among some of the most pigmented i have ever used.

My favourite out of the shadows i have is Cosmopolitan which is the red/copper shade i use this all the time and i find it compliments a lot of outfits which i didn't think it would being such a bold shadow.
Cocoa bear is the shadow i have heard talked about the most on you tube and blogs. It is a warm toned brown perfect for the crease.
Homecoming is shimmery champagne/brown shade which is very pigmented.
Havoc reminds me of Mac's 'Club' eye shadow as its a duo chrome with green and brown.
Steampunk is extremely pigmented and it does have a little fall out so i find this one best to build up on the lid to save a disaster on the eye!
Envy is a lovely dark green shade, i always seem to gravitate towards a green shade. Again this shade is highly pigmented and you only need to use a little.

Swatched in Order:
|Cosmopolitan
|Cocoa bear
|Homecoming
|Havoc
|Steampunk
|Envy

The magnetic palette i keep these in is from Freedom Make Up.
I buy Make Up Geek from Beauty Bay.

Review| 12 Piece Make Up Brush Set For £1.65?!?

I have only ever bought a few make up brushes from Ebay before and they have lasted years so i wanted to compare some new ones from Ebay with them!
I came across this set that was £1.65 with free postage! I have to get them even if they were terrible they were very inexpensive but they are great quality and im very impressed!
The brushes aren't full size more like 3/4 but i don't mind as they are great for travel as well as everyday use.

There are 12 brushes in the set, most are eye brushes but there are 2 lip brushes. The bristles are so soft but not too soft so that they won't blend.
The delivery was very fast, coming from China i expected them to be at least 3 weeks but they arrived just after a week! So i do recommend this seller to purchase from and i have since repurchased from them.

I have used the brushes and i am extremely surprised with the quality and how well they blend eye shadows. You can't argue with 12 brushes for £1.65 in general but i would have happily paid £5 and over for these!

Available from here.

|What I'm Reading At The Moment

These types of posts are among some of my favourite to read as i love being nosey as to what people are reading and here's what i am currently reading or plan to read!

Review| Wet'n'Wild Photo Focus Foundation

After watching lots of great reviews on this foundation i had to pick it up, I ordered it from Beauty Joint as we don't have Wet'n'Wild in the UK. It was $5.99 which is £4.64 so a real bargain for an amazing foundation!

The foundation is full coverage which is my preference, it gives kind of semi matte finish. I have the shade Shell Ivory which i think is the second lightest shade. It lasted amazingly well for over 10 hours whilst i was at work and still looked good. I have been reaching for this over my MAC Studio Fix which is my go to foundation and its a fraction of the price.

It did not dry my skin out or start to break up my contour which had been happening recently. I did have to powder but that is not an issue at all because i always powder throughout the day.
The foundation doesn't have a pump but i don't mind that as i found this easier to dot on my face and makes less mess.

Overall, i think this foundation is amazing, it lasts all day, does not oxidize and is very inexpensive!

Review| The Wedding Singer | Liverpool Empire

The Wedding Singer the film is not a film i am overly familiar with, i think i may have watched it years ago but couldn't remember much about it! I was given tickets to go and watch the UK Tour in Liverpool so took the chance as i love any kind of theatre show!

The cast includes Jon Robyns as Robbie, Cassie Compton as Julia, Ray Quinn as Glenn, Ruth Madoc as Grandma Rosie.
My standout cast member was Sam Holmes as George i thought he was fantastic!
The choreography is amazing, i wasn't sure what to expect from the production as a whole but it was very professional and i highly recommend a trip to see it on the tour! I loved the use of the set and the lighting throughout.
Another aspect i really liked was the songs there are lot of them throughout as you would expect but all the cast had great voices!

Tickets range from £26-£37
Watch the Trailer below!

More Information on the tour dates here.
