Book Review| A Summer At Sea | Katie Fforde

'A Summer at Sea' is the first book i have read by Katie Fforde and i wasn't disappointed!  If you have read my book reviews before you will know that 'Chick Lit' is my favourite genre to read!

'She has a career as a midwife that she loves . She enjoys living on her own as a single woman. But she’s also feels it’s time for a change and a spot of some sea air. 

So when her best friend Rebecca asks whether she’d like to spend the summer cooking on a ‘puffer’ boat just off the Scottish coast, she jumps at the chance.

But she barely has time to get to grips with the galley before she finds herself with a lot on her plate. 

Rebecca is heavily pregnant and is thrilled to have her friend on board doing most of the work. Then there’s Emily’s competitive and jealous kitchen assistant who thinks she should be head-cook, not Emily. 

And there’s Alasdair, the handsome local doctor who Emily is desperately trying not to notice. 

Because if she falls in love with him, as he appears to be falling for her, will she ever want her old life back again?'

Kate Fforde has quite a few books out which i will get round to purchasing as i really enjoyed this book! I particularly liked the characters Emily and Alasdair i really got a feel of both of their characters.

The book would be a great holiday read as it's easy to follow, all the characters are likable and it's an uplifting read! I would highly recommend this book. I have also purchased a few other books by Katie Fforde since reading this one!

Book Review| 'Relativity' Antonia Hayes

Relativity is the debut novel from Antonia Hayes , It was published on 17th January.

'Ethan is an exceptionally gifted young boy, obsessed with physics and astronomy.

I loved this novel is was heart warming and thought provoking, i couldn't put it down. The characters were all relatable and likable. This is an amazing debut novel and i highly recommend it to you.

Antonia Hayes, who grew up in Sydney and spent her twenties in Paris, currently lives in London with her husband and son, Relativity is her first novel.

Book Review| Never Google Heartbreak : Emma Garcia

This book made me laugh out loud quite a few times and not many books do that to me! I really liked the two main characters in this book, they are extremely likable. The book kind of reminded me 'Bridget Jones' Diary' with some of the situations!  

Overall, i think any chick lit fans would love this book so recommend a read!

'When her fiancé Rob breaks off their engagement for the third time, Viv does what any girl would do - she Googles heartbreak.

Confronted by tales of misery, she decides to set-up her own self-help website for the broken-hearted. But as Viv passes through the three essential stages of grief (denial, vodka, disastrous haircut), she becomes determined that it's not too late to try and get Rob back.

Book Review| Two For Joy: Helen Chandler

I've been back on a reading hype since i've been on holiday and i read this book in a day!

I came across this book while browsing Amazon and liked the description so i bought it!

Julia and Toby have been friends for years, but apart from a couple of drunken snogs in their university days, there's never been anything more than friendship between them. It's only when Toby goes through a dramatic break up with his gorgeous ballerina girlfriend Ruby, that he and Julia realise they're meant to be together.

Then Ruby drops a bombshell - she's pregnant - and though he feels torn in two, Toby feels he has to give their relationship another chance.

Heartbroken Julia is left to lick her wounds in her little Walthamstow home, thinking she has lost Toby forever. But things soon become much more complicated . . .

The book is a nice easy read perfect for a holiday, the main 2 characters are very likeable, i found it a real page tuner as i just wanted to know what was going to happen! The only thing was i didn't really like the ending, i think it could have been elaborated on!

Other than that i loved the story and think it's a great read.

Book Review| OMG Baby! Emma Garcia

OMG Baby! is a book by Emma Garcia which is about two best friends who have a baby together. Here is the synopsis...

'Viv and Max were best friends for years, then they were lovers and then it all went wrong.

Now finally they are to be reunited. Viv feels sick. Not just with nerves at seeing Max again, but because there's a small chance she might . . . quite possibly . . . most definitely . . . be pregnant.

I really liked the two main characters in this i thought they were very likable!  I couldn't put it down and read it in 3 days! It is a great book is you love 'chick lit' like me! I have also bought the book that was published before this now but i read them in the wrong order but the story still made sense! This book is an easy read, perfect for holidays so would highly recommend you checking it out!

Book Review| One Night: Promised Jodi Ellen Malpas

This book is similar to Fifty Shades in the sense that the narrative is a rich business man sees a average girl and has to pursue her. I did find this quite boring in some parts as it was repetitive. There are 3 books in this series and i would like to read the other just to see what happened but i wasn't compelled to rush out and buy it!

Book Review| Three Girls and a Baby: Rachel Schurig

Having just finished college Ginny splits with her boyfriend then she finds out that she is pregnant. Ginny lives with her friends Jen and Annie who help her come to terms with her new life! This book is mainly a book based around friendship. It is a cute book and an easy read, so i would recommend it!
I downloaded this book for free on my kindle, so if you have a kindle i would go and get it! 
Otherwise you can get it from Amazon for £5.57 and that is the cheapest i have seen it online.

Book Review| Woman In Black: Angel Of Death

This book is an accompaniment to the Woman In Black: Angel Of Death film that was released around a month ago now but i do like to try and read the book of a film before i watch it. I have watched the previous movie it is set at the same house but it is not written by the same author.

Set around 30 years later than the first, this is focused in 1940 when a group of school children arrive at Eel Marsh House having fled the London Blitz. If you have read/seen the first book/film you will know who haunts the house and what happened in there, so im not going to elaborate as it will ruin the story.
I will say that i don't like the ending but i didn't like the ending from the first book either. I think it's just down to personal preference though really but overall i do like the book and will definitely be watching the film!
